Surrounded by the mountains and natural streams of Bruselas in Pitalito, Huila, Finca La Colina is a family-run farm deeply rooted in generational knowledge. Manager Marly Yohana Bolaños Valencia developed her appreciation for the land as a young girl, helping her parents plant and harvest. Today, she channels that lifelong experience into specialty coffee, cultivating a mix of the resilient Colombia variety and prized Pink Bourbon in the region's uniquely cold, high-altitude climate. Marly’s approach to processing is meticulous: cherries are picked at optimal ripeness, fermented in sealed bags for up to 48 hours, washed, and then carefully dried for 10 to 15 days. This focused dedication to quality has really paid off, allowing the family to partner with Caravela, upgrade their home and drying infrastructure, and build a sustainable, forward-looking business.
